Some of the most classic Fluorites for all of the U.S. came from the historic Sunnyside mine in southwestern Colorado. This mine is renowned for its superb pink Rhodochrosite specimens which are sometimes associated with green Fluorites. Typically the Fluorites from the Sunnyside mine are octahedral in habit, but this piece exhibits a rather complex crystal habit showing cube, octahedron and dodecahedron faces which are oriented into octahedral forms. The crystals are a light green shade and are virtually water clear inside! There are some minor pink Rhodochrosite crystals on the base of the specimen as well. Ex. Kosnar Collection.
