Description
You could call this a schorl, since it really IS just about black - but under strong light, at the very termination, you can see just a hint of dark teal blue. At any rate, regardless of what variety of tourmaline it is - this is a sharp, lustrous, fat crystal sticking up amongst tufts of snowy cleavelandite. It measures just over 1.5 cm in height (the exposed part, that is) and about 2.5 cm across the termination.
Known provenanceKnowing where your specimen comes from and who owned it adds to its story and value. Good provenance helps prove it's authentic and preserves important details about its discovery.
