Lepidolite is not normally a species I go crazy for, but this piece is really special. I like it for the contrasts in colors, textures, and unusual 3-dimensional crystals of lepidolite that really ARE giant textbook crystals, instead of the usual matte or lumpy smothering of small crystals we often see. It was the only example like this in good condition on a table of specimens I saw in 2011 for sale from a Brazilian wholesaler. Joe Budd Photos.
