Graphite
A large, 3.9cm long, columnar crystal of graphite! This lustrous, steel gray, submetallic crystal originates from a Dana locale in Finland and is one of the best ones we have seen for the species in recent years. Ex. Howard Belsky collection with label. This is a significant example of actual crystallized graphite in such size - though graphite itself in masses is quite common. Frankly, I think this is a competitive miniature - it is, after all, something nobody has nor would expect to be in a case of fancy crystal species on exhibit!
