In the early 90's, a shocking find of beautiful BRAZILIAN azurite came to market. This was astonishing - never before had copper minerals in such quantity and quality been seen from Brazil. Amongst the crowd of azurites, some specimens showed partial alteration to malachite. Towards the end of the find, in the mid-90s as I recall it, some few specimens came out showing this complete alteration, as we see here. THe best of them, such as this, had perfectly changed rosettes of azurite to malachite perched on matrix of bubbly botryoidal primary malachite. This is a choice and pristine miniature! 6.1 x 5.2 x 2.5 cm
