Sharp, lustrous, gray chalcocite crystals to 5 mm richly cover the mounded matrix. The chalcocite is associated with splendent, specular hematite and coatings of iridescent bornite. The matrix appears to be solid, massive chalcocite. Rich copper ore, here. The area around this historic mine was intermittently active from the late 1700s until 1990. Ex. Wes Parker Collection.
