A very rare and fine azurite specimen from Cerro de Pasco, Peru. Sparkly, electric-blue azurite microcrystals are richly invested on both sides of the sculptural, triangular, layered gossan matrix. The crystals on one side have incredible sparkle for azurite. The side view of the plate shows layers and pods of malachite within the matrix. This is obviously old material from an upper oxidized zone of these mostly base metal deposits. Ex. Don Boydston Collection and comes with older "The Bradleys" label, which dates from 1952-58.
