Very closely resembling an elbaite crystal from this famous mine, it could be easy to mistake this much rarer apatite crystal for a poor pink tourmaline! This fluorapatite is from the Himalaya Mine and has high luster and transparency, except for an opaque termination. The color is an attractive rose pink hue. Good fluorapatite is an uncommon accessory mineral from the Himalaya. This is from the collection of Ken Rippere, who was the college room-mate of Himalaya Mine owner Bill Larson
