An old-time, fine and rich epidote specimen from the historic Type Locality - Bourg d'Oisans, France. Gemmy and lustrous, olive-green epidote prisms to 1.4 cm richly cover both sides of the greenstone matrix. Although some crystals are broken, this remains a very highly representative and rarely seen old-timer from this classic locale. From an old Museum Collection and comes with two, old, handwritten labels in German and an epidote crystal figure. The date of September 13, 1855 is clearly visible on one label. Old-time, documented material like this is very rare.
