Sphalerite

From a newly opened vein in the Animas mine, this piece is a nice crystal group of greyish-black Sphalerite. It has an almost velvety luster in areas when rotated in the light. The piece is essentially opaque, but I have not seen any specimens from this area for a long time, and hopefully it will start producing more pieces in the future.
