Attention quartz and Dalnegorsk collectors: Dalnegorsk AMETHYST! This is one of 4 specimens we got from a very small, surprising find in 2006. The specimens are not world-class for the species, but the importance here is the locality; and, actually, they ARE rather pretty, with good transparency, glassy luster and a very delicate lavender color. This is the best specimen we saw from the find, and actually can hold its own with good amethysts from other more familiar amethyst localities. (And, it has a distinct pretty hue all its own). That one apparent tip-ding shown in the left-lower photo was a break that seems to have been naturally healed over again in the pocket. Comes with custom-made acrylic base.
