Over a dozen multicolored Fluorite cubes with purple phantoms grace the matrix plate of this attractive display-sized piece from finds of 2018 in the area near Chifeng, in Inner Mongolia. The cubes have well developed faces and razor-sharp edges and average 1.8 cm on edge. Some of the dark purple, cube-shaped phantom cores have whitish, ghost-like areas in the center. The thick rim is a completely transparent, pleasing green that displays some subtle zoning. The Fluorite cubes are loosely to moderately clustered with these very distinct, handsome crystals placed attractively on the lavender-gray Muscovite that completely blankets the top of the matrix plate. The Muscovite occurs as rosettes and pseudohexagonal crystals to 3 mm. The corners on just a few of the cubes are compromised with small damages, but this captivating piece displays really well.
