This is a riveting, INTENSE blue color the likes of which you will seldom see in the mineral kingdom. The thin plate of matrix is host to overlaying linarites, some flat and some sticking up at an angle with crystals to 13mm, that are glassy, and translucent It is an important example of the species from a US locality and extremely rich compared with other worldwide finds of this species, which are few and far between. They are so blue that you have to reset your parameters for the color in blue minerals - it really is that crazy freaky blue. Although much of the piece is massive, it does have crystals atop and the sheer color adds a significance as a California or US specimen, in particular.
