This is a huge cast of amethyst that has replaced (pseudomorphed) euhedral crystals of fluorite, retaining their skeletal, boxy form. The largest pseudomorphed crystal here measures 10 cm! The specimen seems to have been inside a geode, as part of the outside "shell" is what forms the matrix. Inside this "shell," the pseudomorph is complete and visible from all sides.
