Bladed, green rosettes of malachite are aesthetically set on sintered-looking azurite on this showy and excllent specimen from an uncommon locality - Seabra, Bahia, Brazil. The prominent, very well-placed rosette is 2.1 cm. One usually thinks of world-class gem pegmatite minerals and rare species from Brazil. So, to see oxidized copper minerals from Brazil is truly unusual and rare. These came out in a small find in the 1990s and caused quite a stir, at the time. Ex. Michael Jactat Collection, a French dealer and collector.
