A highly unusual thing, here! This is a complete and total replacement of an unusually elongated uvite tourmaline for which this locale is famously known, by the rare strontium-aluminum phosphate species Svanbergite. We can only assume that this crystal must, although a pseudomorph, rank very highly in terms of the size of crystals known for this species. From the noted pseudomorph collection of dealer and collector Ken Roberts. Joe Budd photos
