Matrix quartz of this style, known as "Herkimer diamonds" after their sharp doubly-terminated forms, are hard to come by. Most desirable is this style: clear colorless quartz on a matrix of smaller quartz, stained black by small inclusions of anthracite/graphite. The contrast is striking!
