A fine, large crystal of the lead chromate Crocoite, from the famous Red Lead Mine locality and old mining here. The sub-adamantine luster and gemminess of this solid, 1 cm wide, orange-red crystal cause it to glow even in ambient light. The main crystal has a tiered termination, and there is a partial (regrettable, but not uncommon) sidecar that adds presence and interest to the piece. This is a large and good representation of this desirable species. Better in person.
