Azurite and malachite specimens are very rare and are rarely available from the many copper mines and prospects of Valdez-Cordova Bourough, Alaska. Most mining activity took place prior to World War II and in many cases, around World War I. This old-time, showy and rich specimen is essentially sold azurite and malachite, with only a bit of greenstone matrix. Ex. J. Cilen Collection.
