This specimen at first glance seems to be a pretty good francevillite (orange) with curienite (yellow). It is indeed that - very rich, colorful, and with awfully large crystals for francevillite! HOWEVER, the piece ALSO hosts outstanding, huge, really sharp crystals of the much rarer associated species Chervetite, named For French mineralogist, Jean Chervet (1904-62). Chervetite is a very uncommon lead vanadate - and few enough fine crystals of any vanadium minerals are found in these deposits in any case. This specimen has crystals that are eye-visible and attractive, to about 7-8 mm.
