This is one of the better, terminated crystals of "Strawberry Quartz" that I have ever seen for sale and it originates from the John Sinkankas collection AND it's a scepter! Expertly polished faces reveal that it is RICHLY included by acicular crystals of hematite which give it a unique sparkle and color all its own. The polishing reveals its absolutely fascinating interior and it appears that the coppery red hematite needles have a preferred orientation from the way they glisten with a directional preference. Looking at the sides and back it is very apparent that the crystal is a scepter. This material is HIGHLY valued for its carving and lapidary uses. It is very rare to find a surviving specimen in this size range and unique provenance with reference to the John Sinkankas and Bill Walsh collections as well as a hand-written label with older history yet. Ex. John Sinkankas and Bill Walsh collections, then to Joe Polityka Collection for decades. Again, this is literally about a pound in weight at over 380 grams of highly-valued lapidary carving material, so it is a miracle this has not already been butchered for the masses! This is one of the best, most perfect, terminated crystals of "Strawberry Quartz" that I have seen for sale, polished or not (and I accept polished material on such antiques, rare anyways, and when necessary to bring out the beauty inside).
