GEM: 2.0 x 1.4 x 1.0 cm; weight 15.03 carats The finest gem crystals of orthoclase are produced in this region of Madagascar, although most of the crystals come out broken and tumbled. This is a very RARE AND LARGE, 100% gem, crystal of sharp feldpsar of this rare style! Although there is some minor contactting on lower portions of the sides, I can tolerate it as this is still a very well crystallized, golden, transparent, crystal with all faces present. Also, the termination is SHARP, not rounded as usual! Its gem weight is 55 grams. Accompanying this crystal is a 15.03 carat, golden, faceted gem, of the same orthoclase. This is a set where both are equally fine, although the specimen is the more rare.
