Splendent, metallic hematite blades with embedded (epitaxial, i.e. growth oriented) rutile crystals are classic and highly desirable combination species from the St. Gotthard Massif of Switzerland. Two, sharp, intergrown hematite blades with beveled terminations have lustrous, striated, wine-red rutile crystals aesthetically set in the crystal faces. Excellent material from the John Ydren Collection. Formerly a Willard Perkins specimen.
