Specimens from the much less well-known Kavalerovo Mining District, near Dal'negorsk, Russia are much rarer than from the much more famous nearby Dal'negorsk mines. A 3.1 cm, very distinctive and diagnostic, blue-green fluorite octahedron is nicely set on and partially enclosed by glassy quartz crystals. The fluorite is nicely translucent and the lightly frosted crystal faces have moderate luster. The quartz crystals are peppered with fluorite microcrystals and a single, fine, small fluorite octahedron. Specimens of this quality came out in the early 1990s, with none since.
