Scorodite from this ONE TIME pocket at the Ojuela Mine in 1969 is considered to be among the world's best of species (this pocket, and a few pieces from Tsumeb, and that is it!). This thumbnail specimen is particularly aesthetic with a cluster of several, gem blue crystals perched eloquently on a perfectly sized piece of bright, granular Pyrite matrix, with two contrasting tiny white Quartz crystals. Six lustrous and translucent, blue Scorodite crystals varying from 2 mm to 1 cm in length are clustered together and their orthorhombic form is very distinct. The scintillating, fine-grained Pyrite provides great color and textural contrast as do the 2 to 3 mm Quartz crystals. These very rarely turn up on the market because no one who owns one really wants to part with theirs! This is one of the rarest additions to any Mexican suite, or for that matter, a suite of the rare and desirable mineral species that are colorful and beautiful, but few people ever own. Treasured since they were found, and seldom for sale, this is an important specimen, not just a pretty showpiece.
