Emplaced beautifully on crystallized white calcite is a single, doubly-terminated, ruby crystal measuring 1.5 cm in length. The incredibly deep color saturation of the most vivid pigeon's blood red color is amazing, plus it has fine luster and translucence. This is a caliber of ruby hard to get in the market now, as most goes to the Chinese for carving. From the Burma collection of "Burma Bill" Larson, who has for decades brought out gems and then minerals as this region opened up to the trade in specimens.
