A stunning, large cabinet fluorite and quartz specimen from recent finds at De'an Mine, China. A huge, 9.0 cm, translucent, frosted, green, cuboctahedral fluorite crystal rests on a pedestal of etched, snow-white quartz and has a quartz "cap." The giant fluorite is fabulously complimented by four purple, cuboctahedral fluorites to 3.0 cm and a colorless octahedron on one side. Two, jauntily angled, intergrown clusters of sharp, purple and green, fluorite octahedrons to 4.7 cm top off this his dramatic piece. These fluorites came out in modest numbers for only a short time, then became scarce (see recent Min. Record China issue for more on these) .
