A superb example of this odd "trigonal" habit of rhodochrosite, semitranslucent and complete all around, obtained directly from Ernie Schlicter who collected the pocket in the late 1970's. These specimens of flat rhodochrosite from Mt. St-Hilaire appear to be contact twins,; see Mineralogical Record 14:363-4 and 21:332-3. 2.8 x 2.5 x 0.3 cm
