The best of these Ethiopian amazonites are every bit as good as the prized Colorado ones, and in specimens such as this, better than the great majority from Colorado. These are fabulously sharp crystals, to a sizeable 4.5 cm, isolated on a matrix of contrasting, colorless orthoclase. Wonderful robin's-egg blue color and silky luster.
