Dense, intricate cluster of 'Faden' Quartz crystals from the Hot Springs area, famed for its Quartz crystals. Faden crystals are typically tabular, which in itself is unusual for the mines in this area. The crystals range up to about 2 cm long, and most are gemmy to cloudy, as expected for Fadens. This is a good representative Quartz cluster for Hot Springs, that demonstrates two unusual crystal properties for the Hot Springs trend. Kay bought this from the mine owners, Jim and Hisami McNeil, in 1988. Rare material, actually!
