A solid large cabinet specimen of radiating sprays of pearlescent, tan to brown pyrophyllite lathes from a historic North Carolina locality - Orange County. This is classic, old-time material, certainly 100 years old or older, from the Joseph Wilcox and Philadelphia Academy of Sciences Collections. Specimens of this old-time size and quality are rarely found in dealers stocks. Joseph Wilcox was a prominent Pennsylvania collector and museum curator who lived from 1829-1918.
