A striking and unusual baryte specimen made up of thin "ropes" of baryte crystals crossing space, and linking together, so that this is not as massive as it should be for baryte due to all the open space. It is literally a latticework of baryte, weird and rare and quite surprising to me. This came out of an old 1800s collection, and was labelled by catalog entry (Marshall Sussman had the collection at the time) and passed on to us with the location on his own label (several people I showed it to thought it was legitimate, although it is the first of its kind we have seen). Fascinating baryte from an ancient locale!
