Last week, we had a larger specimen from a recent lot with superb transparency and color. This is a smaller specimen from the same lot. Until these pink fluorites were discovered in Mexico, Peru and the Alps were the only sources for pink fluorite, and the cost of a specimen such as this was (and still is) astronomical from those localities. Occasionally, such as with this particular piece, you get the wonderful clarity of an Alpine piece as well. These octahedrons measure up to 2 cm on edge. 6.9 x 3.7 x 3.5 cm
