Rhodochrosite gem crystal
This is a fine Rhodochrosite for Cananea, as crystals of this size and quality were never plentiful from this locality. Reminiscent of N'Chwaning Rhodos with its superior luster, gemminess, and deep red color, the crystal also has an unusual, flattened habit, with minor matrix. Cananea Rhodos this good are simply hard to find, as evidenced by the provenance of having been in the Irv Brown and W.S. Logan collections (and includes one of his superb labels). Stunning in person!
