A classic example of the famous Himalaya Pinks, the tourmaline this mine was so richly known for producing since the late 1800s. It is 87 grams, hefty, and balanced. It has rich color, the best shade and not a pale version. It is translucent to transparent throughout, and miraculously without damage or repair! Small bits of lepidolite and cleavelandite add an accent. This looks like classic material from the modern Bill Larson era of mining in the 1970s-1980s.
