Excellent specimen of botryoidal Malachite from Romania. The actual crust of Malachite is several mm thick, and it forms botryoids that range from 2.5 cm down to .3 cm. The color is excellent, and the luster ranges from silky to adamantine. A choice Malachite from an unusual locality. The label is from the mid 1900's. Note: Despite the label, it is believed this is actually from Sasca (aka Szaska,) Moldova Nou_-Sasca Cu-Mo ore field, Banat Mts, Cara_-Severin Co., Romania, not Hungary.
