Shigaite is a very rare aluminum manganese sulfate. This fine miniature features a beautifully placed, 6 mm cluster of tabular, hexagonal, dark cherry-red shigaite crystals on a mounded clusters of very sparkly, translucent, rose-red rhodochrosite crystals, which are sprinkled with micro shigaite crystals. This piece comes from a small recent find and is highly representative of both species.
