There is hardly any match in the mineral kingdom for the intense cherry red of Chinese realgars. They also have an almost wet-looking luster and gemminess that add to the appeal. Two notes about these: they are very light-sensitive, so do not keep them in the light - and, they are poisonous due to the arsenic content (they are a sulfide of arsenic), so even though they look good enough to eat - it is a very bad idea!
