It is not all that easy to see from the pics, but what you are looking at are modified cubes of GEM-CLEAR fluorite with thick bevels along the edges caused by the octahedral modifications on the cube faces. In a dramatic display of oriented deposition, the crystals are FROSTED on the bevels, and GLASS-CLEAR through the side "windows"; for a really striking effect! Looking through these windows, you see the familiar "water-clear" interiors that makes Dalnegorsk fluorites so famous. The crystals here measure up to a sizeable 3.5 cm across. They are arranged very attractively along a matrix of quartz crystals. I have sene many of these, and few so aesthetic as this one. Usually they are on horrible matrix, truth be told, and not this nicely crystallized matrix. This is a rare and beautiful specimen, and sizable, and with interesting crystals - it really stands out from the crowd. 11.5 x 7 x 5 cm
