Spessartine from Nevada seldom has such luster, or sharpness. This is exquisite, for a locality garnet from here. A single, equant, lustrous nearly translucent, spessartine crystal, 1.5 cm in length, is aesthetically emplaced on a shimmering matrix of drusy quartz.. The spessartine crystal is colored a deep wine red. Self collected by the previous owner in 1990.
