GORGEOUS, gemmy and lustrous, lightly frosted, bright cherry-red rhodochrosite scalenohedrons to 1.9 cm are aesthetically set on contrasting sulfide-covered matrix on this showy and excellent specimen from the Uchucchacua Mine of Peru. A couple of scattered, water-clear quartz crystals are a nice accent. No new material has come out in recent years.
