This sharp thumbnail is remarkable for its complex form (the more rare habit of the species from this location), brilliant luster and golfball-like carved symmetry. It is a thumbnail of extremely high quality, best seen in person. These are 50-100 years old or more, generally, and most acucmulate some damage over time. This piece has remarkably little wear - a few trivial bits of wear is all. It is complete 360 degrees, and a floater, with perfect symmetry. Comes with a label from 1948, when it was sold by dealer Hugh Ford, and has long since been in the Conklin collection.
