Native Silver with Calcite

This is an absolutely classic example of old-style German silver specimens but made more special by the complicated and aesthetic shape of it. It seems to be a floater cluster of ropes/wires that grew somehow off another now missing wire or off of calcite (likely, as you see the small calcite crystals still attached). This is the best kind of German silver, with an association to calcite or solid matrix, very rarely seen. It is complete on both sides and is for a thumbnail specimen a bit more special than most in terms of how it fills the volume and stands out. The typical small wire does not cut it in a competitive exhibit, but this will. Like many Flynn collection thumbnails he sourced over 50 years of pursuing thumbnails, it is somewhat special and unique compared to the norm.
