This is an elongated compound crystal of tourmaline showing dramatic color zoning and unusual transparency for a Himalaya tourmaline of this size. It is a very complicated termination, atop, with a "mini-crystal" jutting up and out. It is quite dramatic, and is complete all around, save only for a small bit of edge wear on the left of the termination. 35 grams. From the collection of Hubert De Monmonier (1919-2007), donated by bequest to the University of Arizona Museum to add to their displays and to provide specimens for sale to establish an endowment fund for museum operations, in perpetuity.
