This is an old-time quartz specimen that was in the Hauck and Caldwell College Collections. This is a fascinating crystal, because you can see two generations of growth. The original prism, with a sandy white coating, was later overgrown by milky quartz with a carpet of crystals on one side. There is a "window" that lets you see the original crystal inside.
