This specimen is an unusually elongated, hot pink-red, doubly-terminated floater that is complete all around and simply gorgeous when standing in a case. It is somehow different than others, in a way hard to describe from photos or video - it just has more presence. The thin-ness lets more light come in, and through, but it also is saturated in its own right, more deeply colored than most Himalaya Tourmalines. The combination of hot saturated color and translucency let it glow without any strong backlighting needed. This is a SPECIAL quality, seldom seen. It is lustrous, and both terminations are perfect and complete. It has one very clean, hard to see repair about the middle. 92 grams. Self-collected by, and from the important and long held personal San Diego County Collection of William "Bill" Larson, longtime owner of the Himalaya Mine, discoverer of the famous Queen Mine BlueCap pocket, and numerous other San Diego mining projects over the last 60 years and more.
