Swiss (Alpine) Smokies are considered the world's best, and for very good reason. Beautiful, water-clear, facet-grade, and highly lustrous, this Smoky cluster has everything you could ask for. Factor in the gorgeous, transparent brown color and that the largest crystal is 5.2 cm, and you have a desirability factor that keeps growing. The very tiny amount of wear on the termination has no real effect on the excellent aesthetics. Specimens like this small-cabinet cluster, from this and other famed Swiss localities, are the epitome of Smoky Quartz crystals, and you can see why in one simple photo.
