Rhodochrosite with Quartz and Tetrahedrite
Sharp and colorful Sweet Home Rhodochrosite piece! Saturated medium pink, translucent Rhodochrosite rhombs dominate this sensational small cabinet piece. The two prominent Rhodochrosite rhombs measure 2.5 and 2.3cm across and another relatively large Rhodo pokes its rhomb edge through the center of the Quartz-Tetrahedrite matrix. Several smaller Rhodos frame most of the periphery with a few exhibiting contacting/cleavage. The larger crystals have sharp edges with some minor chatter locally. Numerous, small, transparent to translucent Quartz crystals are present at the intersections of the Rhodochrosite with 1 to 3mm, metallic gray tetrahedrites in association, both providing lovely contrast for the saturated pink Rhodochrosite crystals.
