Hedenbergite is a member of the Pyroxene group, first discovered in Sweden in 1819. This complete-all-around crystal is a deep forest green, with good luster and translucence (with a hint of gemminess). For a species where good crystals are often less than a centimeter in size, this crystal at 3.5 cm truly stands out. An old-timer, and a major specimen of its kind.
