Elbaite
A fine and very unusual looking watermelon tourmaline from an uncommon Coronel Murta locale - the Machicho Mine. The lustrous, lower green, outer portion of this watermelon tourmaline has been partially resorbed and etched, giving the crystal a strange, shimmering look. The green zone below the termination is beautifully gemmy and lustrous. The pyramidal termination is shades of green and pink. This is a complete-all-around, pristine and fascinating Brazilian tourmaline.
